Stephen Adams, freelance web developer

Hi, I’m Stephen. I’m a full-time freelance app developer and author of the book Getting Started with Angular. I’ve been a web developer for 20 years and I’ve worked independently since 2012.
I’ve worked on projects for enterprise-level businesses like Google, Cambridge Assessment, Calor Gas and the UK Houses of Parliament, start-ups, and local councils.
I live in the UK, in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, and have experience working remotely within a team.
My skills include:
- Vue 3 development
- Angular development
- NgRx development
- Angular application enhancement (working with legacy Angular apps)
- Responsive web development with Sass
- Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Need a freelance app developer?
Working with me looks like…
I’m here to solve the business problem and develop an app that meets the needs of the end-user. A clear plan, well-written code and an application that works. It’s that simple.
I love being part of a team and I’ll come onboard at any stage – whether it’s a brand new project or something that’s already in the works.
I usually work exclusively with one client and can travel (I’m 30 miles outside of London) but remote working suits me well.
I wrote a book, too!
In 2019 I published my first book, Getting Started With Angular.
Writing a book was hard but worth it.
My hope is that the book helps budding Angular developers understand the platform and learn how to make the most of it. The process of writing it definitely taught me a lot.
Through explaining Angular in lots of detail in the book, I learned more about using the platform myself. When you teach something to someone else you come to understand it more thoroughly. I’ve taught Angular on the job before but writing it down is a different experience.
